Meeting of Delegations of Russia and the United States today in Istanbul

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed yesterday in a statement to the media that delegations from Russia and the United States will hold another meeting in Istanbul today. Negotiations will focus on removing obstacles to the work of the two countries diplomatic missions.
« I think the results of the meeting will clearly show how fast and effectively we can progress, » said the Russian minister who led the Russian delegation at the first such meeting on February 18 in Riyadh.
Representatives from Europe and Ukraine did not attend the meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That meeting was the first since the start of the war in Ukraine. The US delegation was led by US Secretary of State Marko Rubio.
On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump said he thought it was necessary to have peacekeeping forces in Ukraine in one form or another. Trump again informed yesterday that Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky will arrive at the White House on Friday to sign an agreement on the use of rare minerals of Ukraine with the United States. On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered the United States joint co -operation in the exploitation of ore treasures in Russia, including in the territories of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhje and the Hersonian area.
