After a break from his royal obligations, the Dutch throne is ready to emerge in public again.
On Wednesday, June 18, Princess Amalia’s first official appearance since she recently was seriously injured during a ride.
The 21-year-old princess got something of a shock on June 10 when she fell off her horse and broke her arm. The injury required an operation and Amalia spent two days in the hospital before being discharged and sent home for rehabilitation and rest.
But now she signs up again, and it happens at a military ceremony at the Prince Bernhard barracks in Amersfoort, where she will attend with her father, King Willem-Alexander. It informs the Spanish media Hola!.

The ceremony will be the first time the public sees Amalia after surgery, and therefore there is a lot of attention about her participation – not least because it confirms that she has recovered sufficiently to resume her duties as heir to the throne.
The accident has also had other consequences for the royal calendar. The annual summer photography with the entire royal family, which was planned earlier in June, had to be postponed. The pictures of King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and their three daughters-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane-will instead be taken on June 30.
