Measures for teacher training and student preparation
International PISA 2025 testing has begun today, which will take place in 160 schools in the country, attended by 6,330 15-year-old students to assess their knowledge and competencies in reading, subjects and mathematics, evaluation to be developed online.
During a meeting with teachers at the Sami Frashëri Gymnasium, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, said that this test was taken to really reflect the overall level of education in Albania, the work of all teachers, and the achievements and competencies gained by students.
« We have worked throughout the year because we want this assessment and testing for us to be a realistic test and to really show those contributions and values of Albanian education. It is an assessment that reflects the level of education in the country, the work of all teachers and the achievements and competencies gained by students aged 15, » said Manastirliu.
The Minister of Education has appreciated the importance of this testing, saying that preparations for it were made to students, teachers and the right infrastructure.
“I am convinced that the great engagement of students and teachers will make us have good results in the next result, we are already prepared with teachers, with the right infrastructure because testing is online for all three branches”Said Minister Manstirliu.
The purpose of the PISA test (Program for International Student Assessment) is to evaluate how well the 15-year-old students are well prepared (usually in 9th or 10th grade) in reading, scientific and mathematical subjects in the context to cope with real life challenges. Testing will take place according to a calendar in the next two weeks in schools across the country.
PISA testing preparations have started for 1 year, with teacher training, where 1000 teachers have been trained and the test tests for students. The Ministry of Education and Sports has drafted and is implementing a detailed plan for improving PISA 2025 results, which includes: In -depth analysis of previous results, periodic training for teachers in key areas, and developing support materials for teaching.
