The Anderlecht mayor Fabrice Cumps prohibits « the presence of Bruges supporters during the game of May 18 ». In the competition, RSCA has to compete again against Club Brugge that Sunday. In the margin of the final of the cup of Belgium between Bruges and Anderlecht, last Sunday in the King Baudouin Stadium, it came to riots in various places in Brussels.
Supporters of the West-Flemish club were aiming for passers-and-goers in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek and Jette on Sunday, and later in the evening there were reprisals by Brussels youth against Bruges supporters.
« Given the unacceptable behavior of certain so -called supporters in the margin of the Belgian cup final and the associated risks for public order, » Cumps Supporters of Club Brugge decided not to admit.
« The aim of this decision is to protect both the residents and the supporters of RSCA. There may be no repetition on the municipal territory of the astonishing scenes that we witnessed last weekend, » it says.
The measure follows on messages on social media in which new riots are called on 18 May. The services of the Zuid police zone, which includes Anderlecht, were asked by Cumps to work together with his colleagues and representatives of RSCA on the implementation of the measure.
