Mayor Dukic visited the landfill near Zadar: ‘Starts the closing phase of this landfill’

The fire that broke out on the Diklo landfill on Sunday afternoon was successfully extinguished and under control, and Mayor Branko Dukic visited the location with the services.

– Together with the services, I visited the Location of Fire on the Diklo landfill today. I wanted to personally convince myself of the situation on the ground and support all the services that responded quickly and effectively – said Dukic.

– I understand the concerns of fellow citizens, especially those living near the landfills. The City of Zadar is working systematically to close the old landfill and establish a modern waste management system. With the opening of the Waste Management Center in Biljani Donji, the final phase of the Diklo landfill begins. It is a project that will enable more systematic, safer and more environmentally friendly disposal of waste at the whole county level – he added.
