No one asked for a permit for the so -called victory day event in Klaipeda, though the question of whether it would have been issued.
As expected, on Friday, individuals gathered at the Soviet soldiers’ memorial sculpture park.
About noon there were about half a hundred, mostly the elderly, some of them brought children.
Those who came to put flowers, lit candles, and one candle was with Soviet symbolism.
At the foot of the former symbolic sword, a small wreath with a Russian flag color tape was placed, perhaps, left by the Russian embassy.
Several women hung the silhouettes of the birds cut from paper (unlike peace of peace) on the thuja, which they symbolize, did not explain and did not speak.
Later, one elderly man appeared, with a helmet on his head and a Russian flag.

Since various institutions of the country have warned about expected information or other provocations since the beginning of the week, officials were also on duty on Friday in Klaipeda.
« Not only in Klaipeda, but also throughout the county, there is calm, incidents have not been recorded. However, more officials are working, including in the cemetery, » said Darius Petraitis, Chief of the Public Order Service of the Klaipėda County Police Headquarters.
