« Lasconi asked and the CNA was executed!

The National Audiovisual Council sanctioned, on Wednesday, the Realitatea Plus station with the maximum fine provided by law, 200,000 lei.

The post is accused of violating the audiovisual legislation in reflecting the protest in the Old Capital (March 9), generated by the decision of the Central Electoral Bureau to reject Călin Georgescu's candidacy for the presidential elections in May.

The Council analyzed the reports drawn up by the Monitoring Directorate as a result of the notifications received and decided, with a single vote against (Georgică Severin), the amendment of the position Realitatea Plus.

The reality violated art. 3 – (2) of the law of the audiovisual, which stipulates that « all the providers of audiovisual media services have the obligation to ensure the objective information of the public by presenting the facts and events and to favor the free formation of opinions ».

The sanction was proposed by Valentin Jucan, vice -president of the CNA, who found that Anca Alexandrescu and some guests (Aurelian Pavelescu) misinformed and incited violence, despite their call to peaceful events.
