Matura exam in mathematics – the most difficult test for over 300,000 high school graduates
The mathematics exam at the basic level began on Tuesday, May 6, at 9 and lasted three hours. This is one of the three compulsory written matura exams that all graduates must join. This year, over 301 thousand have fallen for the exam. people – including about 275 thousand This year’s high school graduates, second -cycle technicians and industry schools. Others are people improving earlier results or taking the exam for the first time.

Barely A few minutes after starting the exam on social networks, such as portal X (former Twitter) and Discord messenger, photos appeared depicting fragments of mathematics matriculation sheet. The Central Examination Commission reacted immediately.
Director CKE Robert Zakrzewski referred to the matter, emphasizing that « the exam material is secret until nine o’clock ». As he noted, all people took the exam at the same time, and thus had equal chances. « I have no information that the leak took place before the exam, » he added.

Despite the assurances of the calm course of the exam, the Central Examination Commission began collecting materials and analyzing the situation. They are verified, among others cases of bringing telecommunications devices to the examination room – in particular mobile phones, the use of which is strictly prohibited.
– I find out whether the case of bringing the prohibited item to the examination room actually took place – said director Zakrzewski, reminding that just bringing the phone to cancel the exam in a given session.
Consequences of cheating at the high school graduate
According to the applicable rules, any use of the phone during the exam – even after its start – is considered to be a breach of regulations. As the head of CKE pointed out, if someone after 9 o’clock took pictures of the sheet and published them on the internet, he committed a criminal act.
Zakrzewski admitted that one case of breaking the rules has already been confirmed. – After analyzing the exam reports from Monday it is known that there was such a case and the exam was annulled – he said. At the same time, he noted that such situations are incidental. – We have approx. 275 thousand candidates and only a few cases of dishonesty (…). It could simply be staring – he said.

On the same day it was also planned Never -compound exams in the Kashubian language, Lemko language and Latin language and ancient culture. These are items taken at the extended level by people who previously reported a desire to join them.
High school graduates, in addition to three compulsory written exams (Polish, mathematics, foreign language), must take two oral exams and at least one exam at the extended level. For technicians and graduates of second -degree industry schools, this obligation may be abolished if they have an appropriate professional diploma.
When the results of the 2025 matura exam?
The results of this year’s matura exams will be announced on July 8. To pass the high school diploma, you need to get at least 30 percent. points from each of the mandatory exams. In the case of additional subjects, there is no passing threshold – while the final result may determine the admission to studies.
