Masters, Oil and Filters: The former mayor in Istria serviced a private car at the expense of the municipality!

After the investigation conducted, USKOK filed an indictment in front of the County Court in Rijeka against the former Mayor of Istrian Municipality of Gračišće Ivan Mijandrušić (IDS), which, together with the director of the company from Buzet, charged with the municipal money serviced by a private car. The prosecution, without citing the defendants’ identities, reported that 70-year-old Mijandrusic was charged with abuse of office and authority, and the 66-year-old service center in Buzet of assistance in this criminal offense.

USKOK claims that Mijandrusic and the co -contaminated director of the service center agreed to make a service and replacement of parts of his private vehicle at the expense of the municipality, which was then owned by his son.

In addition, USKOK states that Mijandrusic and the director have agreed to deliver spare car parts for his private vehicle at the cost of the municipality, using the circumstance that the municipality owned an official vehicle of the same brand.

USKOK adds that Mijandrusic and Director, according to an agreement from January 10, 2011 to November 9, 2017, asked employees of the Service Center to create work orders in the name of the municipality, which was falsely stated that the official vehicle of the municipality was being operated, and the service, repairs and replacement of parts of the vehicle owned by the Mayor or his son were made.

Then, bills were issued to the municipality, which was falsely stated that a service was carried out on the vehicle of the municipality, that is, repair and replacement of parts, although the services based on the aforementioned forged accounts and work orders were really executed on Mijandrusic’s vehicle.

The municipality, according to the Mayor’s approval, paid for the independently issued invoices in the total amount of € 4014, for which the municipality was damaged and the former mayor was obtained by property benefit. At the same time, his son took advantage of 930 euros, USKOK adds.
