– We are proud of our students who have shown exceptional creativity and professionalism at one of the most important gastronomic events in the region. Not only is WFF connecting us with top chefs and experts in the industry, it gives us the opportunity to our students to present themselves as future leaders, said Dean of the Aspira Polytechnic, Alen Jerkunica.
In doing so, he also emphasized the importance of excellence in the education of this increasingly demanding profession that, to Croatia and its experts, is well positioned on the world gastronomic scene. Aspira Polytechnic is increasingly emphasized as an internationally recognized educational institution that attracts students from all over the country and the world, but also as an institution from which top chefs come from, which further confirms its quality and importance. This year’s WFF was attended by N Lovre Bravaric and Alex Orlic from Pula, Nives Boric and Borna Salov from Split and Tania Berisic from Opatija and Mate Bartulovic from Graz.
– I had an unforgettable opportunity to cook with the winner of Masterchef Ivan Temsic, who today is a chef restaurant with Michellin’s star. John is not just a top chef but also an inspiration for us students. He is patient, motivating us and is ready to convey his knowledge and experience, said student Nives Boric.
– It was a great honor to cook with Chef Temšić, but also a big challenge given the size of the event such as WFF. I think we did very well, and we can thank the Aspira Polytechnic where we have acquired all the knowledge needed, said her colleague, Borna Salov
-The students on our meal were great and thank you to Ivan Temšić and Aspiri for allowing us, Borna continues.
The importance of this event was emphasized by the winner of Masterchef, Ivan Temšić.
– It is a great honor to be part of the Weekend Food Festival again, this time as a mentor to my talented colleagues, said Ivan
– WFF has an exceptional meaning for the whole gastronomic community because it brings together top professionals, connects experience and youth, and offers an opportunity to share knowledge, inspiration and create new opportunities, Ivan concludes.
In addition to having students the opportunity to show their culinary skills, Aspira informed visitors at their promo booth about the possibilities of studying, they expect new successes to their students in the coming years
