For the fourth time in a row, Markus Wallner was confirmed as the state party chairman of the Vorarlberg ÖVP. He was the only candidate.
Governor Markus Wallner was elected for the fourth time in Dornbirn as the state party chairman of the Vorarlberg People’s Party. He received 97.56 percent of the delegate votes at the 43rd ordinary state party conference. The 57-year-old was the only candidate. Wallner also outlined his « clear ideas » for the future of the country in a « Vorarlberg Speech ».
Wallner accepted the choice under Standing Ovations. In addition to Wallner, the state party chairman – Julian Bitsche (new, JVP, 98.05 percent), Veronika Marte (new, ÖAAB, 98.54 percent), Josef Moosbrugger (farmers’ association, 98.54 percent), Martina Rüscher (we women, 98.54 percent), Andrea Schwarzmann (new, 99.02 percent) and Marco TiTler (New, business association, 97.56 percent) – newly elected.
Stocker with FPÖ-side blades
First of all, Chancellor Christian Stocker had his appearance, in which he did not divide with swipes on FPÖ chairman Herbert Kickl. Wallner wants to continue to « reliably tackle »
Wallner praised Stocker in his speech for his insistence in the European question of the FPÖ. Peace, freedom, confidence and the common are central.
« Working order » for the ÖVP is to create a good future for the country. « A lot can arise with the necessary confidence, more than you think, » said Wallner. The times of crisis must be countered with confidence. It has been shown what is important: families, health and care, open borders in the Lake Constance region, digitization and cheap energy supply. In the elections, « heights and depths » were experienced. The state election was a « hot run », said Wallner with thanks to his colleagues.
With a view to the Economic Association, he said that he had also experienced, « maybe also underestimated » what it was meant to be exposed to anonymous accusation. « I would like to thank everyone who believed in my personal integrity, » said the governor. For Vorarlberg, he has a « clear plan » based on Christian-social values, there is a need for action with security, boosting the economy, research, reducing bureaucracy, energy and in the preservation of social balance, « the question of immigration should not be neglected ». Work is a meaningful part of our life, he conjured up the idea of performance. In any case, Wallner wants to continue to « reliably tackle ».
On the last state party conference 2021, Wallner received 98.87 percent approval and thus easily increased compared to 2015 (97.93 percent). Three years earlier, he took over Herbert Sausgruber’s party leadership, and at the start he received an encouragement of 99.37 percent.
