Marine Le Pen declared unnecessary for five years
The right -wing French politician Marine Le Pen has been sentenced to a prison sentence in the affair about the possible apparent employment of employees in the European Parliament. The court in Paris also withdrawn Le Pen for a period of five years. This means that the right -wing populist politician cannot run in the 2027 presidential election.

The French news agency AFP reported as a headline at lunchtime: Marine Le Pen and her co -accused MPs were declared not clear. A supplement came later: The punishment is immediately applicable (Exécution Provisoire), but the duration was still missing – whether it could be compensated for, for example, before the election in 2027. About three quarters of an hour later the exact sentence: Marine Le Pen is sentenced to a prison sentence of four years, two of them with ankle capen and two on probation. So she doesn’t have to go to prison. In addition, Le Pen has to pay 100,000 euros. The passive right to vote is revoked for a period of five years – with « exécution provisoire », so from now on.
Le Pen is expected to appeal to the judgment. It should follow a long way through the judicial authorities. Depending on the outcome, this could make it possible to still compete in the elections.

« It is my political death that is required with preliminary enforcement, and I think that is the goal of this operation from the start, » Le Pen reacted to the request of the indictment to immediately exclude it from the election for political offices.
Until the end of the election period, Le Pen can in any case continue to sit as a member of parliament, where she is the group leader.
Marine Le Pen threatens political
The central accusation in the process was that Le Pens party got racial emblems national money for parliamentary assistants from the European Parliament, but some of them had worked for the party. The affair had burdened Le Pen and her party for years.
