The Council of the Pension and Disability Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZPIZA) elected Marijan Papež, who has been leading the ZPIZ for 20 years, in a secret vote of 17 votes of 26 valid ballot papers in the new four -year term. 9 members of the council voted for Anja Kopač.

Zpiza's decision to decide the Council of Zpiz must also be given by the government, which has the last word. Even before the vote, the members of the Council adopted a decision calling on the government to respect the decision of the institute's council when obtaining consent. It is important that the Director General of Zpiza has a full term of office before the pension reform and is not acting; In addition, the National Assembly elections will be next year.

Both candidates, who were also the only ones, are professional, they fulfill all the conditions and are suitable for the performance of the tasks of the Director General of Zpiz, the tender committee noted, which interviewed them on February 18.

There are seven representatives of the government, trade unions and employers in the 27-member council of the institute, three representatives of the federations or retirement organizations, and one member has workers, students and employees of Zpiz.

At today's meeting of the Zpiz Council, representatives of the trade unions proposed a secret vote on both excellent candidates so that the decision would not affect the participation in the future. According to unofficial information, employers' representatives supported Anja Kopač, representatives of the Government of Marijan Pope, just like Labor Minister Luka Mesec, and the representatives of the trade unions were shared.
