Marie-Jeanne Huysman (74), the widow of Willy Naessens, has given an interview for the first time since the death of the beloved entrepreneur from Wortegem-Petegem. “’Give me another squeak« He said, » says VTM News.

It has been a month and a half ago since the Sint-Mauruskerk in Elsegem said goodbye to Willy Naessens (86). His coffin was brought to church by his personal four -in -hand, family, friends and employees formed an honorary hedge and finally there were sandwiches with minced meat. The family did not speak with the press that day, but now does that for the first time.

Marie-Jeanne, with whom he got married in the same Sint-Mauruskerk in 2018, indicated an emotional interview VTM News. « It’s going to be. It has to move forward. Life continues, » she said. Despite their relatively short marriage, the two had been a couple for many years. Tube feeding

Naessens was already on the intensive care service in the hospital then. Due to complications after a fall in January, he had difficulty eating, causing his condition to deteriorate. « They found nothing, but his health weakened as a result. They finally admitted him to give tube feeding. After about five days that went wrong. He choked and it went to his lungs. He got a pneumonia, » said Marie-Jeanne. “And then there is the Guillain-Barré disease (A rare condition where your immune system attacks your own nerves, ed.) added. That is paralysis. So his vocal cords were paralyzed. He could no longer speak, no longer eat, no longer drink. That was not for Willy. Absolutely not. ”
