March 25: Warships open to the public


As part of the celebration of the National Anniversary of March 25, 1821, three warships located at the E11 Port Port Port Port (OLP) are visiting the public from 9:00 to 19:00 until Tuesday.

This is the frigate « Spetsai », the « Katsonis » submarine and the fast -paced « Ritsos » missile patrol.

And he added: « When you are on a mission, there are communications, satellite communications, which all of our ships now have, so it is easier to be as close to their own and dedicated to the profession they have chosen, in a field with the longest tradition in our country. »

Konstantinos Kouzouris, Governor of the Frigate « Spetsa », said to SKAI that « with joy and honor we welcome the public to come to see the Navy ships in Piraeus, to occupy our mission and, above all, to get to know the staff. »

It is noted that this frigate attempts two hundred days a year, is 117 meters long, about 15 meters wide, and is a « multi -roles » ship which means that it can deal with any threat.

As for the « Katsonis » submarine, which is visited for children over 12 years – like all fleet submarine, it is comfortable by up to 300 meters deep, has autonomy for about 40 days that can sail without refueling and is one of the newest ones in the Eastern Mediterranean.
