A stroke with the fist, crushed rear window and glass shards in the cabin. It sounds like something from an action movie – but it all started with a very ordinary parking fee in a quiet Swedish suburb.

In Varberg, a 35-year-old man was so mad about getting a fine that he ended up smashing the back window of a parking guard’s car while the guard was sitting behind the wheel.

The episode took place last May in an otherwise peaceful residential area and the case has now been in court.

It writes the Swedish media KungsbackAposten.

The man had briefly parked a friend’s car on the sidewalk to get a better workplace for a car he himself was repairing. However, the creative solution was quickly discovered when a parking attendant came by and acknowledged with a fine.

The 35-year-old refused to accept. He confronted the guard and demanded that the fine be canceled on the spot. Of course, when that didn’t happen, he went over to more tangible methods. First he stood behind the guard’s car and started pushing it. Then things went wrong.

« Then I hear a bang, then he smashed the rear window on the trunk, » the parking attendant later explained in court.

Glass splinters flew through the cabin and hit the guard that was still inside the car.

« I got glass out of me and got out of the car. Then he pushed me with my stomach and maybe with his hands, » he continued.

The defendant claimed during the trial that he acted in self -defense. According to him, he was afraid of being hit and therefore acted for fear. However, the judges were not convinced. The explanation was assessed as untrustworthy and the man was known guilty of disadvantage and damage.

The penalty is on a conditional sentence and 50 daily fines, corresponding to a total of 12,500 Swedish kroner – about 8,250 Danish. In addition, he has to pay 10,000 Swedish kroner in compensation to the parking attendant, corresponding to around DKK 6,600.

So it became an expensive fine in more than one sense.
