A 50-year-old man from Vorselaar beat the dog of his then partner to death at the end of last year after a discussion with an ax. He then threw the animal in a waste container. The perpetrator was also guilty of destruction in a night shop and rebellion. The judge imposed a 30 -month prison sentence on him.
The operator of a night shop in Kerkstraat in Vorselaar drums the police on December 1, 2024 because SC (50) from Vorselaar had destroyed a number of bottles of strong drinks in the case. The man had entered the business under the influence and drank a bottle of vodka in front of the shop assistant. When he was asked to pay for this, he became noisier and threw several bottles of gin on the floor.
Then he entered a nearby café with a crowbar. During his arrest, he was opposed to the police and expressed death threats. « He stamped and spit at the reporters when they placed him in the service vehicle, » the judge explained in her verdict. « A knife was found in his jacket pocket and during the transfer to the police station he was out of sentences and continued to call and thrust. He constantly stamped against the partition, causing it to be damaged. »

Two days later SC received a discussion with his partner at the time about money matters. During the fight, the man beat the dog’s dog to death with a decorative ax. He took photos and videos of the animal and his face full of blood and sent it to his partner. The police found the animal in a waste container, under its mat and toys.
C. told the police that he was afraid of the dog who would have bitten him in his leg. But the court found that the wound on his leg could not come from a recent bite. « In addition, he stated the day before that he went for a walk in the forest with the dog. This does not correspond to his statement that he would have been afraid of the animal. It is also certain that the defendant sent the photos and videos to his partner to touch or shock her, » says the court. « He made his partner’s dog suffer unnecessarily. This behavior is reprehensible, he had the co -responsibility for the dog. »

SC has previously been convicted thirty times, including ten times for success and injuries. He committed the facts when he had to comply with conditions. The court in Turnhout sentenced the man to a new prison sentence of thirty months with probation conditions. He must be treated further for his drug and alcohol problem and must continue a psychiatric treatment.
