Man detained on suspicion of sexually abusing six -year -old girl in Barcelos

A 37 -year -old man was arrested by the Judiciary Police for being suspected of sexually abusing a six -year -old child in Barcelos in late March.

In a note sent Wednesday to the newsrooms, the PJ said that the investigation « began after denouncing a minors at risk, where the minor is institutionalized, following a process of promotion and protection of minors, motivated by alleged negligence of parents. »

“Increased investigations by this police, it was possible to gather sufficiently evidence elements that the aforementioned minor was the target of the practice of relief sexual acts that took place inside the author’s residence, personal friend of the mother of the minor, says the authority.

In this sense and taking advantage of the victim’s vulnerability, “the suspect stroked her when she was with her mother in a public park, eventually accompanying him, alone, to the interior of that residence,” says the note.

The man was subject to the measures of coercion of total prohibition of contacts with the victim (in person and also through any electronic communication equipment) and surveillance with electronic bracelet.
