Man arrested after beating his wife in public
A 27-year-old man, who beat his wife under the child’s eyes, in a playground in Brasov, received an arrest warrant for a 30-day period, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Brasov Court informed.
The incident happened on Saturday evening, around 11:00 pm, and was surprised in a shooting that later went viral on a social network.
According to the prosecutors, the man, ‘while in a public place in Brasov, respectively in a playground on Alexandru Flechtenmacher Street, he repeatedly and with high intensity, at the level of his face and head, his wife, in the presence of the minor child of the two, for a year, being a year, and a public, Eye witness, who recorded audio-video with the mobile phone part of the acts of aggression, as well as for the people who watched the registration transmitted by the witness on the social networks’.
‘On June 9, the Prosecutor’s Office next to the Brasov Court ordered the criminal action to a person who acquired the quality of defendant, regarding the crimes of domestic violence and disturbance of public order and peace. (…) On June 8, the defendant was detained for 24 hours. The prosecutor within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brasov District Court made a proposal to take the preventive arrest measure against the defendant, and on June 9, the Brasov Court admitted the Prosecutor’s Office and ordered the preventive arrest for 30 days of the defendant ‘, according to a statement issued by the Prosecutor’s Office.
The police officers were self-identified in this case and opened a criminal case following the filming in the online environment, because neither the victim and the witness notified the incident.
« We emphasize that, until the moment of self -assessment of the police, there was no referral regarding this incident or possible previous facts, neither from the injured person nor from other persons who would have been aware of the situation, » said IPJ Brașov.
