In the night from Thursday to Friday, a 42-year-old man was seriously injured in a traffic accident on the A12 in Meise. The driver bumped into the central reservation with his vehicle. The victim was thrown out of the vehicle, but is now out of danger.
The accident happened around 1.30 am in the direction of travel to Boom. The vehicle rode the central reservation, after which the driver was thrown out of the vehicle. The emergency services, where a mosquito and ambulance, were quickly on site. The victim, WB, from Strombeek-Bever, was taken away in danger. In the meantime, it has been danger to danger.
Speed cannot be measured
It was mentioned that it would be possible a street race, but the public prosecutor’s office of Halle-Vilvoorde nuances that suspicion. « It is not objectively determined whether it is overly speed, » says spokeswoman Sabine Lievens. « The reporter of the accident saw the event through his rearview mirror. The victim’s car would have been swallowing before he rode the roadside. »
There are camera images showing three vehicles that run at about the same speed. « However, that speed could not be measured exactly, so it is unclear whether there was excessive speed or a race, » said the public prosecutor’s office. « Moreover, there are no indications that there was contact with another vehicle. For that reason, no traffic expert was appointed. » (DBG)
