Mamers volleyball women celebrate the double

The women of the VC Mamer are Luxembourg volleyball champions in 2025. The team around captain Vanessa Koos also won the second final duel against RSR Walferdingen on Saturday. With the 3-0 win, Mamer also secured the double after the team had already celebrated the cup victory two months ago.

It was the new edition of the previous year’s finals. But this time the team of coach Rehruel Krivov, as the league leader of the regular season, started the final series after the best-of-throat mode. Mamer won the first game 3-1 in the previous week. The challenger also started in the second in Walferdingen with 25:18. A 25:17 and a 25:11 followed. The guests were allowed to cheer.

For Mamer it is the first championship title since 2016 and the 14th in the club’s history. At the same time, it is the end of the Walferdinger series who had won every championship from 2017 to 2024.

The title decision among men, however, was postponed. After the 3-0 of the VC Strasse in the previous week, Volley Bartringen prevailed 3-2 away. At first it looked like a new success of the defending champion. Strasse won the first two sets with 25:15 and 25:21.

Then the bare wrestlers succeeded: they prevailed in the third round with just 25:23, in the fourth clearly with 25:16. With a 15:11 in the fifth set, they stayed in the master race. The decisive third game will take place next Saturday (8 p.m.) in Bartringen.
