« Maleficent but also very cute » – Liberation
“Before music, I wanted to be a visual artist. I made me think that a vinyl, we can open it, so why not do like these old pop-up books that I had a child. I had never seen that in a vinyl. It started with simple drawings on a paper, with cheap pencils, to draw monsters in a boat. I stuck this on paper. It is so magical to be able to create a new universe in your small studio, with almost nothing, and to find it in a record that you can buy in a store. This is my drug, my adrenaline. «
“When I write music, I don’t have a plan. I dreamed of a demon who tenderly embers someone trying to train them at the bottom of the sea and I drew it. I love the contrast of this big ball of hair which you know very well that it can be dangerous. It looks evil but it is also cute: a little diablot on your shoulder that blows you the desire to make mistakes. The day I made this drawing, I crossed a bridge by car and I saw a woman who was going to jump. It’s a true story! I got out of my car and I caught it just in time. When I held her in my arms, I had the strange feeling of seeing the drawing I had just made. The manufacture of this EP was a fairly hard crossing after this experience and the suicide of my best friend who inspired me the first song on the disc. I do not believe in visions or the supernatural, but really very curious things have happened. ”
“My songs are the soundtrack of a Disney film deviating that I write in my head and the drawings are the screenshots. I understood very young that, thanks to my imagination, I could escape by dreaming. This idea was so strong that I hung on to move forward. Creating is therapeutic. Normally, I am the a little strange guy who does not have too many friends but today I am happy because I found this platform with art and music. It gives me a kind of joker and I am no longer looking at me strangely. Art is great for all guys who do unusual things and who find it difficult to find their place. Nice to have thought of us. «
