« Malcolm in the middle » sequel with many stars from original-Diepresse.com
Almost 20 years after the last new episode was broadcast by « Malcolm in the Middle », the sitcom will return. The main actor is on board, but a role is filled.
The « Gilmore Girls » and « Full House » have already finished it, « Malcolm in the middle » is still ahead: a sequel. Ordered in December Disney + New episodes of the sitcom set in 2006, which im ORF ran for a very long time. Now the revival is taking shape: Frankie Muniz will play the highly gifted Malcolm again, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek his parents Hal and Lois, and Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield also slip into the roles of Malcolm’s older brothers Francis and Reese.
One thing is missing, however: Erik Per Sullivan will not play the younger brother Dewey in the new edition of the series, reports the « Variety » industry sheet. Instead of him, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark embodies the musical and often overlooked fourthborn. It is not entirely surprising that Sullivan is not there. Soon after the end of « Malcolm in the Middle », he gave up acting.
The plot also demands a few new additions, because Hal and Lois invite you to their 40th wedding anniversary. Malcolm also returns to his parents’ house – with his daughter Leah (Keeley Karsten, « The Fabelmans »). Lois and Hal also received a sixth child, called Kelly, gender unknown. Jamie (Vaughan Murrae), who was still a baby in the original series, is now grown up. The script comes from Linwood Boomer, creator of the original series.
An appointment for the premiere has not yet been determined. « Malcolm in the middle » only ran from 2000 to 2007, but the seven seasons of the sitcom come to a considerable 151 episodes. (Red.)
