Make sure you pay the correct tax
Maybe you have heard it before: Although many of the items in the tax return are pre -filled, it is far from completed. The tax authorities do not know all about us, even though they know very much. According to the agency, they receive 60 million information from third parties annually about us. Still, that's not all the information they get. We also need to help them with taxpayers. We are actually committed to that.
At the same time, this commitment gives us the opportunity to get financial overview, while at the same time saving money. For all the deductions you may be entitled to are not necessarily included. We see this from the tax reports from earlier this year. When last year the agency sent out the tax return for 2023, 1.2 million taxpayers were able to get back mold on the tax. After a record number of controlled tax notice, the figure was reduced by as many as 360,000 taxpayers.
The number left on the tax increased from 2.7 million to 3 million. Therefore, there is no reason to leave the tax notice untouched. Last year, around 4 million taxpayers checked the tax return digitally. If you were not one of these, the numbers show that you might want it this year.
Because even though it may feel heavy and difficult to open the tax notice, and rather wait for the bill to come, it may be that precisely the changes you put in make you let it go. It's worth it.
We at the Taxpayers' Association are committed to helping people with the tax. Because even though tax is easier now than when we filled out the tax return with pen, and filled the dining room table with vouchers, it can be complicated for many. And it's easy to think that all bits fall into place by themselves.
