On Monday late in the evening, Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak performed at a joint press conference to provide the latest information about Sebastian Mattczak’s extradition.
Let us remind you that this on May 23 was detained in the United Arab Emirates, and on Monday he returned to Poland. A plane with a police convoy and suspects landed in Warsaw Okęcie after 7pm.

Mantczak’s escape after a tragic accident
After a tragic accident on the A1 motorway, Sebastian Mattczak left Europe and hid abroad. At the order of the then prosecutor general Zbigniew Ziobra, a warrant was issued behind him, and Interpol sent a red note, which meant an international search. Majtczak was detained in Dubai by the local policesupported by the Polish special search group. After detention, he was arrested, but he was released from the bail. According to the media, he also received the so -called A golden visa that provided him with the status of a resident in the United Arab Emirates.
The Polish prosecutor’s office initiated an extradition procedure, demanding the issue of a panty. In January, the Court of Appeal in Dubai, acting as a court of first instance, ruled on the legal admissibility of his extradition to Poland – the judgment was not yet final. The man appealed against this decision, but at the beginning of May the Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates finally agreed to its transfer to the Polish authorities.
