Macron confirmation to send an army to Ukraine
France’s President Emmanuel Macron today formalized (27/3) that the European Union would send an army to Ukraine, which is estimated to increase the tension between Europe and Russia at dangerous levels.
A few days ago, Western officials have made it clear that the Anglo -French plan on the Ukrainian issue is not only characterized as peace, as the military forces sent to Ukraine will have a dual role, with one of them being the creation of an out -of -name interest.
For its part, both through Sergei Lavrov and Dmitry Peskov, Russia has made it clear that this would be regarded as an aggressive move by Europe, which would force Moscow to respond with corresponding gravity.
Military forces of ‘securing’
In detail, Macron said after the end of today’s Ukrainian summit that the European partners expressed their joint willingness to remain united and impose peace, arguing that there is no Russian response to the peaceful proposals at present.
Referring to the issue of the mission of European military forces to Ukrainian territory, the French president emphasized that in the first phase an English -speaking mission would go to Kiev with the aim of enhancing efforts to set up Ukrainian armed forces in the future.
He then spoke of sending military forces « securing » from some EU member states, at some points of strategic interest in Ukraine.
Macron noted that the presence of these military forces would be deterrent and that they would go to Ukraine after reaching a peace agreement between Kiev and Moscow.

The French president pointed out that he wishes the development of these European military forces to be done with US support, but stressed that the scenario of their development should also be predicted without US support.
Macron also announced that it was decided to accelerate the EU’s disbursement of loans that G7 has decided to provide to Ukraine.
The French president also wished to play an important role in the efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine and China, while asking Turkey’s role as it was appropriate to express his regret for the latest developments by saying:
« The systematic nature of the persecutions at the expense of opposition, civil society, freedom of expression and freedom of concentration, as well as the arrest of the Mayor of Constantinople are actions that cannot be accepted. »
The EU pledged to contribute to the immediate support of the Ukrainian Army
Regarding the consultations of peace in Ukraine so far, Macron has doubts about their effectiveness:
« There were parallel discussions that resulted in three different announcements that say different things: an American-Ukrainian announcement, an American-Russian announcement and a Russian announcement different from the previous ones, » the French president said:
« We wish to have a clean message. We will continue to reinforce Ukraine in the short term and try to avoid the Russian plan consisting of representing that we are negotiating with the aim of discouraging the opponent and continuing his attacks. «
Finally, the French president expressed his opposition to US President Donald Trump’s decision to increase the duties on the US manufactured by 25% by saying he hoped he will revise this decision that « from economic and geopolitical point is wrong ».
Delivery of 2 million artillery missiles to Ukraine
Meanwhile, the EU has committed immediate support to the Ukrainian army with the delivery of 2 million artillery missiles worth 5 billion euros.
Specifically, according to a European official, the EU has pledged to contribute to the immediate support of the Ukrainian army with the delivery of 2 million large -diameter artillery missiles, as well as disbursement of the G7/ERA loan (EUR 18 billion).
At the same time, it is noted that Member States have been committed to providing additional military support of € 17 billion in Ukraine since the beginning of this year.
In addition, the EU is committed to continuing work to strengthen the EU military training (EUMAM has so far trained 75,000 troops). At the same time, cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry will be enhanced through the new « Ukraine Support Mean » and « Safe ».
The same European official points out that the current meeting in Paris, which represented 29 countries, in the presence of the Secretary General. NATO, Mark Rutte, comes after meetings in Jeddah and the agreements reached there.
« Participants express their doubts about whether Russia will implement the announced partial ceasefire, » the official said.
For his part, European Council President Antonio Costa, posting on « X », points out:
« The best way to support Ukraine is to remain consistent in our goal of a comprehensive ceasefire and a constant and just peace. This means maintaining pressure in Russia through sanctions. It would be a strategic mistake to succumb to the temptation of a premature mitigation of sanctions. «
A. Costa also adds that « peace through power » remains the EU strategy, which requires the strengthening of our multilevel support for Ukraine: military, economic, energy, rebuilding and accession perspective in the EU.
The best way to support ukraine is to stay in our objective to reach a just and lasting peace. This Means Keeping Up The Pressure on Russia Through Sanctions.
