What does not go in Slovakia, yes in the Czech Republic
No media were called to transport the bust, and it was not a problem in the Czech Republic. When in 2019 in the Czech Republic transported the oldest and most expensive statuette of the world Vesonic Venus, it was moved from the Brno Moravian Museum to the Museum in Olomouc in Olomouc.
Soška is a national cultural monument. She was transported in a vault in a bulletproof box. During the transfer, however, journalists were also present and shots from moving 30,000 years of old statuette appeared in many media. They also reported to journalists that they were moving the statuette. Even the Czech media informed Venus about moving before it happened.
We talked to Filip Rožánek, journalist and media analyst, who specializes in the Czech media scene, some time ago.
According to him, the assistance of the police and the armed forces is normal in such a case, similarly when transferring a rare statuette in Brno. But it did not take place at that time that journalists could not do their work or lack standard media communication.
« Such shots are attractive, it will not miss public attention. But I find it incredible to identify a journalist and push him to publish shots. It is also absurd if the Ministry of Culture wants to instruct with the publication of any shots. »
He recalled that the state authority has limited possibilities towards journalists. « If it were a safety instruction, I would expect it from security services, not from the Ministry of Culture. »
Safety standards
The Ministry of Culture reported on Tuesday that it had taken extraordinary security measures to ensure the bust of Cecilia Gonzaga. According to the spokeswoman of the resort Petra Bačinská premises of the Levoča Museum, they do not meet the highest security standards.
Former director of the Slovak National Museum Branislav Panis recently claimed the opposite.
« While I was the CEO of the Slovak National Museum, all the standard rules for securing the depository premises were secured in Levoča. Based on the statements of Mrs. Novotná I assume that they meet the standards for safe storage there. »
« On the basis of the agreement, the place of deposit within the organizational structure of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic was determined. All more detailed information on the process or specific placement is non -public. Since it was a strict confidential regime in connection with the transport and deposit of the collection object, we call on the public and the media not to spread sensitive information, » the Ministry of Culture said.
Where the bust is stored did not specify. According to previously media information, he is in the Security Center of the Ministry of the Interior.

Resort: It is not enough to add a lock to the door
Bačinská claims that all conditions are met in the new place in terms of safety and professional storage. According to the ministry, the protocol on the takeover of the work was created in advance and signed on the spot.
« A work like a bust of Cecilia gonzags cannot be stored in a standard depository. It is not enough to add a door lock. It needs a comprehensive security regime at a level that does not currently meet any museum or gallery in Slovakia. »
The resort rejected any accusations of arbitrary or illegal proceedings and notes that the transport of the bust was in accordance with the law.
Panis said the whole transport had happened in a very non -standard way.
« The Ministry of Culture has decided to take it from the Spiš Museum to an unknown place because of the increased protection of the bust, as communicated on Thursday. It opens up many questions whether it was necessary whether it was right and whether it was in all respects as it should have been – now I think paper. »
The marble bust, most likely created by the Renaissance sculptural champion Donatello in the mid -15th century, was identified in the depository of the art historian Marta Herucová.
Its authenticity was confirmed by the expert a few years ago, the wider public learned about this work only earlier this year.
