« Balkan Travel » is a music-research project that reveals the common musical roots in the Balkans, the rich Balkan musical treasure and the individual melodic and rhythmic elements that are close to the region, for which individual peoples consider to be their authentic. These common elements are used as the basis for creating new string quartet compositions.
– In the new compositions, several dominant elements are circulated: the impacts of classical music and quite the classic instrumental quartet instrument – violin, violin and cello, common melodic and rhythmic lines from all regions of the Balkans, as well as arrangements. All of these elements are woven into new musical paintings with string quartet and Balkan music, which have only one title – Balkan composition.
