Macedonia is loved and respected with works, said Mickoski
Politicians who have vision, who look at the future and who build such works, will be remembered and will never get out of their people’s collective memory. We do not make empty promises, we build. Only so can Macedonia be loved and respected-said Prime Minister Christian Mickoski, who attended the laying of the cornerstone for the construction of the Tetovo-Gostivar highway.
In his address, Mickoski sent three messages: that as a state we are perhaps the only ones that have the potential to be part of Pan-European corridors, that the mayors, regardless of political affiliation, have shown extraordinary commitment, applying for government calls with a number of infrastructure projects.
According to him, today, as never before, the state is a large construction site.
-Today, from here, from the heart of Polog, we send the strongest answer to all skeptics and to everyone who has been talking for years, and nothing has done: we do not promise in vain, we are building. We are starting one of the key infrastructure projects, the new Tetovo – Gostivar highway, 18 kilometers long. This time they will be used and used by Macedonians and Albanians and Turks and Serbs and Vlachs and Roma and Bosniaks and other nationalities, tourists who will head to our mountain pearls, to our lake pearls like Lake Ohrid. It is the future of our common homeland Macedonia that we all love and respect, but with works. Only with works can we love it and we can respect it – said Mickoski.
According to him, this government is building a future today and wants to project what will be in 2027, 2028, 2030.
-The first thing I want to say today is that as a country that, unfortunately, does not go to sea, whenever we talked to the government it was a challenge for us to find what our strategic advantage over all countries in the region, not only in the region, but also in Europe, and then we all came to one of the country. The first is the one we are addressing today – Corridor 8, the second is Corridor 10. Corridor 8 linking the Ionian and Adriatic Sea to the Black Sea, Corridor 10 that connects in this part of Europe, the Mediterranean with Central Europe, but also Corridor 11 that passes in our eastern neighborhood. With a segment that connects Corridor 10 and Corridor 11, we become a country that will be directly linked to all ports in this part of Europe and will be an important link to what the respected US Ambassador, Ageller, is an important link to the southern wing of the largest alliance in humanity. And therefore, when building roads, boulevards, water installations, sewers, schools and kindergartens, the future – underlined the prime minister.
This government, Mickoski added, not only builds highways, but also many local, regional and national roads, express schools, kindergartens.
-The second my message is to thank all the municipalities, whether the mayor, whether it is from the ruling parties or the opposition or are independent candidates, to thank for their commitment and that all municipalities repeated the second call of the ministry of local self -government and allocated projects. It is a very big deal of administration, it is a very commitment to the mayors and I congratulate them. And we as a government will continue to finance these projects because today, like never before the state is a large construction site. Imagine, at one point in more than 1 200 locations will be built. Tell me when this common homeland happened in our history? More than 1 200 locations will be built – said Mickoski.
He recalled that winter, as in any country in the region, three major and constructive construction projects were released.
-One that connects the center with the east of the country and is part of Corridor 8 which ends up to Kriva Palanka, the second is that connects the center of the state, the Expressway that connects Gradsko with Prilep and will remind you of the first section of the railway that should connect Macedonia with our eastern neighbor, which is a historic project, which is a strategic project, which is one of our Eastern Neighborhood Projects, The NATO Alliance and which during the NATO summit in July last year in Washington, the defense ministers of the member states that are part of this region have signed an agreement that they will be their priority – said Mickoski.
The Prime Minister referred to The last, third message that, he said, refers to the government’s focus – added value to the quality of life of the citizens. He expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the realization of the Tetovo -Gostivar highway.
According to the announcements, the Tetovo -Gostivar highway is 17.5 kilometers long and will cost around 90 million euros. It is expected to be ready for two and a half years. The project envisages six traffic lanes, three in each direction, two driving lanes and one for stopping, as well as nine highways, eight for connecting local roads, as well as one for the new intersection in the municipality of Bogovinje and the Municipality of Vrapciste and the reconstruction of the intersection of Tetovo exit.
