Luxembourg lets it crack: the best festivals in the country and the region
It does not always have to be Rock am Ring, Wacken Open Air or Tomorrowland: The festival summer in and around Luxembourg has numerous events for music fans-exceptional backdrops and top acts included.
If you don’t yet know what festivals you should secure tickets for, you will find it here. Selected music highlights at a glance:
Four-day rave on a former nuclear rocket base
Almost two hours by car from Luxembourg you can dance to DJ live sets in summer-for four days and three nights. From July 31 to August 3, the Nature One electrofestival will take place in Kastellaun near Koblenz. DJs like all colors, Felix Jaehn and Charlotte de Witte put on here.
Nature One is also celebrating the anniversary this year: The festival has been around 30 years, which takes place on the former US atomic rocket base Pydna. Over 350 acts on 20 floors will be experienced here. These dance floors are located at a height of ten meters on the bunkers, in the bunkers or on the huge Mainfloor.

There are also camping opportunities at the festival in the Hunsrück, which attracts up to 65,000 visitors every year. However, the journey to camping was stopped early last year. The reason was the poor condition of the site due to heavy rains.
Nature One will take place in Kastellaun from July 31 to August 3. Tickets are available upwards from 149 euros. More information and cards are available at www.natureone.de.
Small Tomorrowland in the minett
If you don’t want to drive so far to dance and celebrate for several days in front of an extraordinary backdrop to electronic music, you can also go to the Loa in Esch/Belval or on the Metz melting site.
Where there is a small Tomorrowland in Luxembourg
In May, DJs such as John Newman, Luciid, Nervo and Jaxomy are on stage. The line-up for the September issue is not yet known.
The Loa Festival has been organized since 2019 and was an absolute novelty in Luxembourg at the time. After all, there was no such large, purely electronic music festival in the Grand Duchy. The Loa, whose abbreviations for Luxembourg Open Air stands, attracts around 15,000 fans of electronic music on a weekend.

The Loa Festival will take place on May 9th and 10th in Esch/Belval as well as on September 13th and 14th in Esch/Schifflingen on the Metz melting site. Tickets for the Season Opening in May are currently in the third price level from 54 euros. Tickets are already available for the closing in September: currently from 39.65 euros. More information and cards are available at www.loa.lu.
Party mood on the edge of the Black Forest
Would you like a short trip to southwestern Germany? Why not visit the idyllic city of Freiburg and drive to the Southside immediately afterwards? The three-day festival, which takes place annually on a former military and airfield site near Neuhausen OB Eck, brings well-known acts such as Green Day, Nina Chuba, Alligatoah, Rise Against and Apache 207 to this June.
The Southside has been organized since 1999 – however, it has only been taking place at Neuhausen OB Eck since 2000. Reason for the move: a scandal caused by Marilyn Manson, drunk at the time. Over 60,000 visitors are now expected at the festival.

By the way: If you want to spend the night on the Southside, you have the selection between several camping offers and upgrades.
The Southside Festival will take place at Neuhausen OB Eck from June 20 to June 22nd. The festival pass in the fourth price level is available from 279 euros. More information and cards are available at www.southside.de.
The oldest Popfestival in Europe
On the same Juni weekend there is also the possibility to drive into the Netherlands to the pink pop. The event is considered the oldest Popfestival in Europe – and in 1990 even made it to the Guiness Book of Records. The pink pop has been organized since 1970 and only failed in 2020 and 2021.
This year, bands such as Muse, Biffy Clyro, Emperor Chiefs and Korn as well as singers such as Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Timberlake will appear there. The festival, including camping, rises in Landgraaf on the Megaland, a former trotting racing track, and now attracts up to 200,000 visitors. And best of all: the festival is less than three hours from Luxembourg by car.
The PinkPop festival will take place in Landgraaf from June 20 to June 22nd. Day tickets cost 155 euros, while the weekend ticket is available for 305 euros. More information and cards are available at www.pinkpop.nl.
Celebrate on former industrial estates
If you are not starting at the Ing Night Marathon on the last weekend in May, you can look forward to the Usina in Dudelingen. Rea Garvey and the currently hyped German singer-songwriter Kamrad appear between industrial wastes and new construction projects.

The festival, which first took place on the Nischmelz site in 2022, not only offers international acts. Luxembourg musicians such as Joel Marques, Edsun, Tuys and Hannah Ida can also be experienced live there. The second day of the festival is also accessible free of charge.
The Usina Festival will take place on May 30th and 31st in Dudelingen. Tickets for the first day of the festival are available from 66.40 euros. Further information and tickets can be found at www.atelier.lu.
Concert series in Luxembourg
In addition to one or several days of festivals, some concert series take place every summer in the Grand Duchy. For example, the Luxexpo Open Air and the Open Air shows in the Neumünster Abteihof, where this year you can experience Justin Timberlake, Cute, Martin Garrix and Inhaler live.
Tickets and further information are available at www.atelier.lu.
Loud summer evenings against a historical backdrop
Ronan Keating, Zoe Wees and Nico Santos – these are the headliners of this year’s Echterlive Festival, which takes place in the Abteihof in Echternach at the end of July. And if you missed Joel Marques at the Usina Festival, you can experience it and many other Luxemburger acts on July 26th in the Abbey City.
Luxembourg’s ESC candidate Laura Thorn will also appear at the EchterLive festival. Photo: Marc Wilwert / LW archive
Also included: the current Luxembourg ESC candidate Laura Thorn, Oke and Francis of Delirium. The EchterLive took place for the first time in 2019 and has established itself for a well -known festival in the east of the country in recent years.
The EchterLive takes place from July 24th to July 27th. Depending on the concert, tickets are available from 60 euros. Further information and tickets can be found at www.trifolion.lu.
Free weekend full of music of all genres
One of the largest and most famous Festival Luxembourg also rises in Echternach: the e-Lake, which this year, as in 2024, will take place without camping, will take place on Lake Echternacher from 8 to August 10th.

It is not yet known who will appear there during the three days. However, it can be assumed that it will be a mix of national and international acts of all genres again. What is special about the E-Lake Festival-and that makes it so interesting for younger festival fans: the event is accessible free of charge.
The E-Lake Festival will take place on Lake Echternacher from August 8th to 10th. Further information is available at www.e-lake.lu.
When it trembles in Saarland
It is one of the most popular festivals of the Luxembourgers: The Rocco del Schlacko in Püttlingen in Saarland has been organized annually since 1999 and always attracts music fans from the Grand Duchy. This year the festival will take place from August 7th to 9th and attracts with headliners such as Kontra K, Yungblud, UFO361, bosses and crossbeat.
While in the first few years there were more local bands on the Rocco del Schlacko, the festival has developed into a venue for international acts such as Rise Against, Mando Diao or Limp Bizkit over time. Around 25,000 visitors travel to the festival every year.
The Rocco del Schlacko will take place in Püttlingen from 7th to August 9th. Day tickets are available from 83 euros, weekend tickets from 152 euros. Further information and tickets can be found at www.rocco-del-schlacko.de.
Another round for Luxembourg’s oldest festival
Since 1953 the Festival de Wiltz has been a tradition of the historical backdrop of the Wiltz Castle. While the focus was initially on theater performances, the festival now offers both popular events and performances that are an absolute must for die-hard cultural supporters.
This year, among other things, the Swedish-Argentine singer-songwriter José González and the British band Skunk Ansansie, which is known for their feminist and anti-racist texts, appear.
The Festival de Wiltz will take place from June 28 to July 20. Tickets are available from 25 euros depending on the event. Further information and tickets can be found at www.festivaldewiltz.lu.
Three days party on the Escher Gaalbierg
Around 40,000 visitors gather annually in June on the Escher Gaalgebierg. The reason is the FrancoFolies that attract international acts such as Timmy Trumpet, Soprano, Julien Doré and Hamza this year.
The festival, which is more likely to be aimed at a frankophone audience, but also appeals Luxembourg, is now one of the greatest music events in Luxembourg.
