Luxembourg is committed to the JPEE color, but does not dare to approach patterns
For 166 athletes, the Games of the small European countries. Some of them came together in Asport in Wickringen last week to admire the new team clothes. The collection for the title fights, which will take place in Andorra from May 26th to 31st, was first designed this year in cooperation with Adidas.
« Otherwise we always worked with other manufacturers, but this time consciously wanted to cooperate with one of the three large brands, » says Gregory Haentges, owner and manager of Asport. The decision for the German clothing brand was easy for those responsible. « We introduced our concept to you and you were immediately motivated. Everything is very professional there, » he describes his impressions.
After the reception and a few short speeches, the time had finally come. The first outfit, a training suit consisting of dark blue jogging pants, a sweat jacket with white sleeves and light blue breast combined with sneakers in the same colors, was shown.
Sometimes the chest is white and the sleeves are blue, sometimes the other way around. We wanted a line to be recognizable, but we can still play with the colors.

And who would be more suitable for this task than the athletes themselves. Table tennis player Sarah de Hookte, Degenfecht Flavio Giannotte, swimmer Julien Henx and the Freshly baked Vice European Champion In Karate, Jenny Warling, posed in the team clothing on the catwalk.
Henx, who wore a white fishing hat, was cheered on the red carpet. « I think it was very well received, » says Haentges laughing about the IT-Piece. « It’s just a trend at the moment. It’s cool if you can go as a athlete. » Overall, the design was rather simple.
All outfits shone in the white-blue combination. « Sometimes the chest is white and the sleeves blue, sometimes the other way around. We wanted a line to be recognizable, but we can still play with the colors, » explains Haentges. The logo of Team Lëtzebuerg also adorns every piece of clothing. Even on the tennis socks, which come into their own, especially with the short trousers from Henx and Warling, is integrated on the calf the « Lux » lettering.
Sustainable materials
In terms of patterns, as in previous years, you have not shown yourself to be particularly keen to experiment. However, this was more to the manufacturer than the COSL and the asport managers. « If Adidas supports a team, they naturally have certain ideas. You clearly had the requirement that it should be relatively clean, » said Haentges.
The sustainability aspect was very important to the Olympic Committee.

However, the coloring itself is a real eye -catcher – a knowledge that has been taken from last year. « The feedback we got from Paris was that the blue noticed, » the owner of Asport explains the decision for the radiant tone and against the recently so popular red.

The topic of sustainability also played a crucial role in the designs, according to Tner Koç, sales manager at Adidas. « The sustainability aspect was very important to the Olympic Committee, » he recalls and admits: « We are rather passive as a brand. » For this reason, Adidas is particularly proud of the collection. The athletes also seemed happy to be with the designs.
So the cooperation is a success across the board, isn’t it? This may be the case for lovers of classic, no -frills fashion. But not for those who may have failed. So you could have created a surprise effect with a striking additive in which there would be no limits to creativity.

This may be available in the following years. Because the contract with Adidas runs at least up to the games of the small European countries in 2029, which take place at home.
