Lotto Lars crosses fingers for one special thing
« I want to win myself, but I actually think it’s almost like winning myself when I make these calls, » says Lars, who for five years has had as a job to call Danske Spil’s biggest winners.
Internally in the hallways of Danske Spil, several call him Lotto Lars – precisely because of the special job.
Remembering especially an episode
He has no figures on how many Danish winners he has talked to – but a special number, he clearly remembers: 760.818.030.
It was Danish history’s greatest lottery win ever, which was won at the Trianglen in Østerbro in Copenhagen last summer.
And it was Lars who called the winner.
« The winner actually knew it already well and just had to be sure. But it was a very special call for me anyway. One of them where the adrenaline was really up and running. It won’t be bigger! » he says.
When it is a little smaller gains in question, the winners often do not know at all that they have won when Lars calls them – and it can give some spontaneous and heart -warming reactions.
« The funniest are definitely the ones who don’t know they’ve won. So is it often ‘is it right? Do you mean that? Have I won ???’ To call up and get that reaction, it’s the coolest thing, I just have to say.
« Ok, it’s probably not quite the same as winning myself, but it still gives me so much when people get so happy. »
Hopeful Danes can play with the first prize pool of DKK 750 million – and maybe a call from Lotto Lars – until 10 pm. 7 pm tonight.
