Looked too deep into the glass? Police stops alcohol trips across the country

In the night of Saturday, a police patrol on the A4 motorway near Pontpierre noticed a vehicle that was traveling in an insecure driving style. During the subsequent control, there were clear indications of excessive alcohol consumption. The alcohol test was positive.

The driver showed himself uncooperatively towards the officials and opposed the instructions. After completing the police measures and his discharge from the commissioner, the man continued to behave aggressively and ignored further instructions. After a medical examination, he was finally instructed into an outgrowth cell.

Alcoholic and continued

On Sunday evening, a witness to the police reported that a vehicle in Luxembourg Pulvermuhl touched a parked car and then moved away from the scene of the accident. Based on the license plate, the alleged accident driver could be found a little later. An alcohol test confirmed: the man was drunk. The driver’s license was withdrawn.

A similar situation also occurred in the evening: after a collision with a parked car, the driver continued his journey. The police met the man at home a little later. Both the alcohol test and a rapid drug test were positive. A protocol was sent to the public prosecutor.

Accident escape ends in the car

In Schifflingen, a vehicle collided with a parked car around 11:15 p.m. Here, too, the driver fled – but not far: the police discovered him in his vehicle a little later. The man was clearly under the influence of alcohol, and the driver’s license was also withdrawn.

In addition to the three accidents, there were several other cases of drunkenness at the wheel on Sunday evening and on Monday. In Mersch, Echternach, Luxembourg-Gare, on the A7 near Mersch and on the A13 near Dudelingen/Bettemburg, drivers were stopped under excessive alcohol influence. In most cases, the driver’s license was collected by the police.
