Long -term weather for May 2025. When is it warmer again?
May – a month that occupies a unique place in Polish tradition – is flourishing its spring volatility. On the one hand, bird singing, lilac smell and first flowering poppies, on the other cold from the north and frostwhich can thwart gardeners’ plans. This year’s May perfectly fits into its classic, capricious character – so different from the initial, almost summer heat blow.
Cold spring. May full of changing weather
The beginning of the month greeted us with temperatures reaching almost 30 degrees C. Unfortunately, the idyll did not last long. A baric system formed over Europe, which brought cold air to Poland from the Arctic – the effect of the boom cooperation from Great Britain with Lowland over Russia.
Consequences? Frosts, rain and cool daysespecially felt in the northeast of the country. On Wednesday, May 7, the temperature at the ground fell in the Suwałki region even to -4 degrees C. In other regions, from 0 to 2 degrees C.
Zimni Gardens and Zimna Zośka came earlier
Although May coolings are nothing new – they have been associated with the so -called cold gardeners (12-14 May) and A cold Zośka (May 15) – This year they appeared earlier. This worries farmers and fruit growers, for whom every night with frost can mean serious losses.
When will it get warmer? Long -term forecast
The next days will not improve. By the end of the week, synoptics forecast a maximum of 12-15 degrees C during the day, cold nights and fleeting rainfall. On Friday and Saturday it can also hang harder. On Sunday – slightly better, with more sun and temperatures up to 15 degrees C.
We have to wait for insulation until the second half of the month. According to IMGW forecasts, a warmer aura with temperatures exceeding 20 degrees Celsius will appear after May 15 – perhaps on May 18, on presidential elections.
