75 minutes of work

In order to understand the secret of a productive working day, researchers analyzed 6,000 desktime users’ working habits from January to December 2024. Their analysis revealed that the most productive users worked in 75 minute cycles.

« Our latest productivity studies show that we are back to more balanced job habits, » explains in a released statement Desktime Manager Artis Rozentāls, adding that the 75/33 ratio could be more suited to the office.

In 2014, the study found that the most productive people worked on average 52 minutes, followed by a 17 -minute break. Thus, the working day consisted of six to seven cycles. The study was published shortly after researchers at the University of Macgila discovered what a normal day looks like in people in 58 countries. It reveals that work is not a central event on a business day, as a person wakes up for nine hours for his own use. The 2.5 hours is devoted to hygiene, and another 6.5 hours are consumed for things people like – entertainment, socialization, TV content and sports.
