London and Paris want to present ceasefire plan for Ukraine

Great Britain and France want to work out a plan for a ceasefire in Ukraine. This was said by the British Prime Minister Keir Strander in a BBC interview shortly before the beginning of the Ukraine conference of European and Western top politicians in London.

« We have now agreed that the United Kingdom, together with France and possibly one or two other countries with Ukraine, will work on a plan to terminate the fights, » said Starmer. The plan should then be discussed with the United States. This is the result of talks with the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj, France President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump on Saturday.

« Coalition of the willing »

Strander emphasized that he wanted to go ahead with other allies ready for action in order to get concrete European security guarantees for Ukraine. « This is probably a coalition of the willing, » said Starmer. He didn't want to criticize anyone, but that was better than waiting for every single country in Europe. Which role Germany can play remained open at first.

About the scandal in the White House between Selenskyj and Trump said, « Nobody wants to see that. » That is why he took the listener in his hand and spoke to the participants. « My drive was to bridge this, so to speak, and to bring us back on the central focus, » said Straßer.
