Ljutkov: Caring for the Macedonian language becomes an act of modern patriotism, to approach him with love and knowledge
During this time of rapid change, care for the Macedonian language becomes an act of modern patriotism. And that concern is not declarative, institutional, responsible and long -term. Let’s approach the Macedonian language with love, knowledge and care. To speak it properly and live it with dignity, said Minister of Culture and Tourism Zoran Sutkov at today’s celebration of the 80th anniversary of the codification of the Macedonian standard language held at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Comment.
– Crucified between prohibitions and denials, between foreign alphabets and tacit identities, he was quietly present, but always alive. As through a bumpy road filled with challenges, the Macedonian language went through difficulties, but never subdued. And when he was forbidden and when he was humiliated and trying to silence him, he carried the power of endurance and renewal – said Ljutkov.
In May 1945, as he pointed out, the Macedonian language became recognized and codified and we are obliged not only to speak it, but also to guard and nurture it.
Ljutkov pointed out that with the commitment of the Government and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism an inspectorate for the proper use of the Macedonian language was established.
« This is an institution created not to control, but to call for respect, to point out, educate, advise and remind society that language is our common precious wealth and our top national priority, » said Lutkov.
