Live war in Ukraine. Negotiations between Kiev and Washington about Raw Material Deal “Get ahead pretty fast”
Chinese prisoners of war speak at Ukrainian press conference: « Everything we heard of the Russians was a lie »
One of them, Wang Guangjun, said he was the target of a Russian attack with chemical weapons. « I lost my strength and fainted. Then I felt that someone grabbed my collar and pulled me into the fresh air, » the man told about the moment when he was imprisoned by a Ukrainian soldier.
After his capture, Wang said he was placed in a hiding place, along with a Ukrainian soldier, to protect him against the Russian attack. « Ukrainian soldiers have protected us and treated us well all the time, » said Wang, who also claimed not to have killed any Ukrainian soldier during his « three days » at the front.
The two prisoners of war claimed that they had no connection with the Chinese government and that they had signed a contract with the Russian army from free will. They now say that they hope to be part of a prison exchange.
The duo also advised countrymen to fight for Russia, just like them. « Don’t do it. Everything we heard from the Russians was a lie. Russia turned out not to be as strong and Ukraine was not as weak as it was said. That is better not to participate in wars at all, » Wang said.
Wang Guangjun and Zhang Renbo are the first Chinese citizens to be imprisoned in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian President VolodyMyr Zenskypy accuses Russia to recruit the Chinese via social media. According to Zensky, hundreds of Chinese are fighting with the front, a statement that denies the Kremlin. Beijing then warns of « irresponsible comments ».
