Live Novi Pope was not chosen in the first vote. From the Vatican explained why the smoke was two hours late …

Black smoke appeared on Wednesday night above the Sistine Chapel, which means that a new Pope, a successor to Pope Francis who died on April 21, was not elected in the first vote of the Cardinal on the conclave.

The Pope chooses 133 Cardinals under 80, who are strictly isolated from the outside world in the Sistine chapel.

Francis appointed 108 of 133 menus. In total, 52 are from Europe, 23 from Asia, the same as from Latin America, 17 from Africa, 14 from the USA and Canada and four of Oceania.

On Wednesday, the cardinals voted only once.

For the selection of the Pope, 267. In two millennia of ecclesiastical history, a two -thirds majority, or 89 votes are required.

Black smoke is not a surprise because the Pope has not been chosen in the first round for centuries.

In the coming days, the cardinals can vote four times a day, twice and twice in the afternoon.

The best prospects for choosing this conclave, according to analysts and bookmakers, have Italian Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Filipin Luis Antonio Tagle.

Behind them are often mentioned by Ganac Peter Turkson, Conservative Hungarian Cardinal Peter Erdo, Liberal Archbishop Matteo Zuppi, Latin Patriarch of Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Archbishop Jean-Marc Aveine, Maltese Cardinal Mario Grech and US Robert Pretost.

However, it is not uncommon in history that the cardinals have chosen a completely unexpected candidate like Karola Woytil in 1978.
