Dasha Khmelevsky from the old Oskol is smart, beautiful, decisive and strong -willed. But her plans for life were violated by severe scoliosis. The girl feels locked in her own body, as in the torture chamber. It seems to Dasha that parents are unable to understand this, they cannot try on her body on themselves and therefore pull with an operation, which, there would be Dashin Volya, should be done as soon as possible, because there is no strength to tolerate this torture – these pains, this is their reflection in the mirror and that it is even normal to breathe only lying down. And after all, you can do such an operation, but it is offered by the Moscow doctor. But parents have no money to turn the torture camera of Dashin’s body into a cozy house.

Before the onset of transitional age, many children have such a short period when they really like them. Especially if the child is the only one in the family, especially if my mother only praised and blew dust from infancy. Dasha had it. Mom did not even give her to kindergarten, and all the early childhood was busy with her daughter herself. So the girl grew up in an atmosphere of hypertrophied love.

And I must say, at the age of seven, and at ten, and at twelve Dasha had every reason to like themselves. Not only because of parental love, but also objectively: according to the most stringent criteria, Dasha made significant, even outstanding successes.

She not only studies at school, but in a physical and mathematical class, with 26 hours of physics and mathematics every week, and successfully. She is not just engaged in swimming, but with such results that it is just right to think about a professional sports career.

But scoliosis intervened in the girl’s life, and he slowly but steadily crushes Dashina successes. With every week, 26 hours of physics and mathematicians are becoming more and more difficult for her – not because there are not enough brains to understand theorems and laws, but because it is physically difficult, painfully sitting 26 hours a week. And the results in the pool are becoming more modest, not because Dasha is training little, but because the body can slide directly on the water day, more and more twisting to the side.

“You don’t understand,” says Dasha. “You can’t imagine how to live in my body!”

Other children, as a rule, are afraid of medical interventions, and Dasha dreams of surgery, even sometimes desperately requires it. And mother is trying to imagine what her daughter is in her body, if she is so striving to give him to surgeons.

Since the only situation in which Dasha does not hurt is lying, Dasha reads a lot. Romantic teenage books: “A Seagull named Jonathan Livingston”, “Scarlet Sails” … And what kind of girl, reading “Scarlet Sails”, will not imagine herself as Assolya? Now imagine Assol, who is waiting on the pier of his prince under the scarlet sails, and one shoulder is higher than the other, and she has a hump on her back, and she is dressed in baggy clothes, only partially hiding the imperfection of posture.

Meanwhile, the operation for Dasha is more than possible – it is ready to do it in the Moscow clinic. A tricky structure with sliding cables will be fixed on the spine – it levens it and will grow with the girl, and as a result, in addition to several small scars, nothing will distinguish Dasha from peers.

The girl even believes that, having recovered after the operation in a couple of months, he will be able to return to swimming and again achieve results that will seriously think about a professional sports career.

– Well, no, not a professional athlete! – says mom.

– Why? – the daughter answers. – the doctor said, I can.

And one more thing: Dasha is going to transfer from a special physical and mathematical class into a special medical and biological. Because if doctors are really capable of doing such miracles as the doctor promises, if they really can turn the human body from the torture chamber into a warm house, then it is necessary not to study physics and mathematics, but by biology and medicine.

The only trouble is … Well, you understand: there is not enough money. Young Assol does not have enough money to wait and hope for a miracle predicted to her.
