Lithuanian Alekna improves his world record in discus throwing / day by more than a meter

Next, Australian Matthew Denny, who was second with a 74.78 -meter shot, also sent a world record disc. On Thursday, Denny sent the disc 74.25 meters at the same stadium.
From 1986 to 2024, the World Record – 74.08 meters – belonged to German Jirgen Schult. The personal record of Mykola Alekna’s father, Virgil, is 73.88 meters, with a result he ranks fourth in the list of the best discs of all time, while the fifth with 73.38 meters is Estonian Gerd Kanter.
