Lithuania – on the world entrepreneurial podium: one thing is inserted by the leg

« The idea was born when we traveled a year ago in Italy with friends, lots of pizzerias, a lot of good mood. We brought all Sicily and Naples to Šiauliai, » said Vytenis Beinoravičius, owner of the pizzeria « Dough and sausage ».

V. Beinoravičius decided that the good taste should be sought not abroad, not in the capital and not in Kaunas, but to bake in Šiauliai with love, salt and a piece of entrepreneurship.

« Why not in Šiauliai? People like to eat deliciously, Šiauliai is a city of opportunities, we are the fanatics of Šiauliai city – we want to raise, raise, invite all the emigrants, » said the owner of the pizzeria « dough and sausage ».

Creating a business outside Vilnius is the courage more and more. Entrepreneurship survey shows that as many as 7 in 10 new companies are born in the regions.

« Kaunas, Klaipėda, but we see a positive in the northern part of Lithuania, » said Saulė Mačiukaitė-Žvinienė, a professor at VU Business School.

However, new places are not created from the choice, but the necessity – people simply do not find a job.

« Such a large percentage of individuals who choose a business path, do not feel safe because of their workplace, means that the labor market is instability, » explained S. Mačiukaitė-Žvinienė.

« I do not think and completely disagree. Regions and all small cities are the land of opportunities, » said V. Beinravičius.

Entrepreneurship is not just a game of young adventurers. The company usually opens the company 25-34, but is actively involved in older, 45 or 55 years.

« We often hear in organizations that investing in potential, younger people and, naturally, who have experienced experiences are to realize and present themselves, » said Auksė Žukauskienė, Head of the Moody’s Competence Center in Lithuania.

But here’s the other side of the coin. Many regional businesses are small companies, without real developmental prospects. Only one in ten start -up entrepreneur promises to create 10 or more jobs in five years. Almost half hires between 1 and 4 people.

« We see that businesses are long -lasting, which are expanding and growing. Startups are one example. Yes, not everyone survives, but the one that lasts – what ecosystem creates, at what tremendous speed it grows, » Savick said.

It is also disappointing that only 2 percent. Lithuanians create a whole new product in the world. It is not innovation, but services, trade.

« We really have the potential – from the field like life sciences where we position the country as a leader, » said the Minister of Economics and Innovation.
