On Monday, March 31 in the morning in Lithuanian Podbrodzie, the sunk an armored transporter of the American army was pulled out of the swamp and is now on the shore. – The combat car was towed at the shore at 4.40 in the morning. The towing operation has been completed, the Lithuanian military gendarmerie and American investigators are working on this – says the Minister of National Defense Dovilė Šakalienė, cited by Delfi.lt. For now, there is no information about the fate of missing soldiers. The minister also said that he did not know if investigators had access to the interior of the armored personnel transporter.

I think that we all breathed a sigh of relief that the most difficult part of the work came to an end, the first and most difficult part of the operation. Six days of persistent work, with hundreds of people working day and night, finally brought the first, very important result
– said Minister Radio LRT.
The politician was immediately asked about the fate of the soldiers sought. She said that there was no information yet. – Another thing is that even if such information appears, there is a very close agreement that the American side will be the first to inform about it – the minister pointed out, cited by Lithuanian media. Six days of hard work brought results. The combat car was recovered. Just before 22, the second rope was located, at 23.08 the second rope was attached, at 02.45 the towing operation began, at 04.30 the towing operation was completed. Two m88 and two additional bulldozers were used to anchor. The M88 itself was not enough due to the fact that the armored personnel carrier itself weighs almost 70 tons and was in the mud, which increases its relative weight several times during the towing surgery, due to the burden of mud resistance

At the same time, patience was asked until more information could be provided. – You patiently trusted the lifeguards for such a long time, but now this trust is even more needed. Until investigators acquire knowledge, we need peace and focus – let’s understand the delicacy of the situation and the sensitivity of the families of soldiers. If the recovery of an armored personnel carrier does not provide all answers, the work will have to be continued – added.
