Likely that the committee proposes amendments

The majority of the Business Committee is likely to propose amendments to the fishing tax bill, according to Njal Trausta Friðbertsson, MP for the Independence Party and a committee member of the committee.

The Business Committee met this morning and discussions on fishing fees were among those on the agenda of the meeting.

Many issues are available at the committee at this time, but the parliamentary work plan was revoked this week, so the committee has probably longer than expected to work on the issues.

Shortened to the committee’s opinion

Jón Gunnarsson, MP for the Independence Party, who is the 2nd Vice Chairman of the Committee, said in mbl.is at the end of May that he believed that the guests who came before the committee spoke to the deaf ears of the majority of committee members.

Njal is not the same as his party brother, but he believes that the majority of the committee will take into account the comments received and submit a proposed amendment.

Eiríkur Björn Björgvinsson, 1st Vice Chairman of the Committee, says in a conversation with mbl.is that discussions on fishing fees have come a long way within the committee and that it is shortened to the fact that the Business Committee submits its opinion. However, he does not consider it timely to say what the nature will be.
