Like a pudding, panicked in front of the office door
Beep. Beep. Beep. The recently the annoying sound of a smoke detector in the stairwell almost driven me crazy. I knew that the device occurs occasionally – but this time the alarm tone just didn’t want to stop. I stormed out of the office in an annoyed manner and only now noticed that if a smoke detector beeps permanently, there is a reason.
SMALL IN ONE stairwell, and it smelled. And then it only noticed – ashes on my head! The smoke actually came from our own office kitchen. The consequences were not long in coming: residents from all floors hurried and gathered in front of our door to track down the reason for the continued beep.
The fact that the smoke detector made the alarm was all alone.
I would have preferred to be sunk in the ground with shame. Because the fact that the smoke detector made the alarm was all alone. I tried to prepare a pudding in the microwave – and overlooked that the finished powder still has to add liquid.
When the cat catches fire
« If you can read, » I thought in retrospect when I studied the tiny writing on the packaging: « Please add 150 milliliters of liquid. » Be it around – in the end the pudding in the cup looked very caramelized. He was soot black.
Fortunately, the problem with the smoke detector was quickly solved: the neighbors quickly took out the batteries and the beep felled. When the working day finally came to an end and after hours of ventilation, fresh air flocked through the office again, the story was eaten. The smoke detector hung back in its place and I learned my lesson. Hopefully.

The “gazettchen” is an informal column in which the authors legally tell about their everyday experiences or even give an insight into their thoughts. This has a long tradition: On December 3, 1946, an opinion with the title « Today » appears for the first time at the top of the side left on the first local side in the « Luxemburger Word ». On January 13, 1971, the « Gazettchen », which has been extremely popular with readers, then became the « gazette », which has kept its Premium-Platz in Luxembourg’s top-class daily newspaper to this day and across all layout.
