Lifelong prison for bomb builders from Styria – Diepresse.com

A 56-year-old Styrian was sentenced to life imprisonment on Wednesday in the Graz Court of Criminal Court for several bombs, which he had built and deposited with Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The IT technician had actually wanted to kill his ex-wife, he confessed in the process. Several other explosives were intended as distraction maneuvers. The man is also instructed in a forensic-therapeutic center. The judgment is not final.

He was convicted of the crime of terrorist crimes and for attempted murder to his ex-wife and his daughter and son. The couple’s two children had also driven the mother’s car where the defendant had installed a bomb. The jury unanimously voted for the conviction. However, they had a number of other attempts at murder deleted in the judgment that were still listed in the indictment. The public prosecutor originally assumed a more than 30-fold attempt to murder. The defendant asked for three days to think about three days after the verdict.

On the second day of the trial, the investigators were initially on the word. The civil servant who first asked the IT technician after the arrest stated that the suspect was cooperative and immediately said: « I wanted to kill my ex-wife. » Even before he was asked in detail, the 56-year-old asked whether the bomb on the car of his former wife had already been found.

Ex-wife drove for about six weeks with a bomb on the car

The official was also asked about an investigation, because the bomb on the car of the ex-wife was not discovered during the first review and the explosive dogs were not struck. Therefore, the woman and the children of the former couple were still on the car with the bomb on the car. The investigator admitted that the explosive device was even installed on the car for a total of six weeks. The judge, however, stated that he did not know that he did not know that his daughter and son also drove the mother’s car: « There was no contact. »

After the explosive report and the psychological examination were already discussed on Monday, Manfred Walzl’s psychiatric report was still on Wednesday. He diagnosed a « very difficult -to -shaped combined personality disorder » with narcissistic expression. Although it was a serious disorder, the accountability was preserved. The 56-year-old clearly told him: « He no longer wanted to be seen as a milking cow by his ex-wife. » It was enough for him. Walzl described that the Styrian told him: « I achieved what I wanted. » The appraiser could not see empathy or pity. The accused’s narcissism is massively pronounced: « Your own ego dominates everything, » continued Walzl. « People with this disease are extremely offense. If this is not treated, this passes into narcissistic anger. This carries a great risk of acting, » said the expert.

Schlussplädoyers from prosecutor and defender

Prosecutor Patricia Weber had said in her final plea: « I couldn’t see any ruisterly confession. We experienced an ice -cold and empathetic accused here. » She never heard that he was sorry for him. « There are many families with divorces and maintenance disputes, but nothing can justify » what the accused did. He not only wanted to kill his ex-wife, but also ensured a « fear climate » among Jehovah’s Witnesses, said the prosecutor.

The defender of the 56-year-old was different for the jury: « Is there a terrorist mass murderer or someone who was driven crazy by his ex-wife? » In addition, the psychological report found that he was « not a high -risk group ». So why should he have accepted the death of 34 other people in addition to the death of his ex-wife? That doesn’t match. (APA)
