Another café is located in the building on two floors and here on weekends, American soldiers do not fit.

« We have big rooms, but it is usually fully loaded. It also causes difficulties for Pabrade residents because there is no place to come, » the guy admitted.

« A lot of work in itself, but we get more tips, » the employee opened.

Once upon a time, American tanks glued their partial badge in the cafe, and now it is a tradition of Pabrade cafes. Each unit leaves its own.

Interviewed residents of Pabrade say the soldiers are kind. But often the noise from the polygon is hindered. Sometimes it is also fired at night.

« I can tell you that you go to sleep.

One man lives right next to the landfill. Says when the tanks shoot, not only windows, but also the earth tremble. But such neighborhood is happy.

« Protects us soldiers from the Russian, everything is in order, » the senior assured.

Pabrade residents did not need to get used to the soldiers. The polygon is here since the Soviet era.

But the Ministry of National Defense is looking for a new landfill in Lithuania, maybe several. Search is searched in southern Lithuania, near the Suwalki Corridor.

The mayor of Švenčionys district says that their experience with a Pabrade polygon shows that there is nothing to fear.

« Economic benefits, economic revitalization. Correspondingly, the municipality raises questions and suggestions on what should occur in the area around the Pabrade military polygon, » explained Rimantas Klipčius, Mayor of Švenčionys district.

The mayor says that the Pabrade landfill is important not for Pabrade, but for Lithuania as a whole. And even in the government, such an understanding is still lacking.

The mayor is glad to at least talk. Previous ministers complained about noise from polygons offered residents to buy ear clods.

The Ministry of National Defense requested municipalities to submit what support would like if there was a military landfill. In the coming months, it is promised to announce where new polygons will be created.
