The food supplier Lieferando has agreed with the union on a social plan for those hundreds of drivers who, as reported recently, are to be terminated. The company confirmed a corresponding report by the newspaper “The standard“On Friday. The Austrian subsidiary of Just Eat Takeaway wants to switch to a work model with free service contracts.
« On the basis of constructive negotiations, we were able to communicate with the works council on a social plan for all affected drivers: to communicate inside, » says a statement by the company. « This includes voluntary severance payments and other support services. The employees concerned: Inside, we inform us accordingly and support them comprehensively during the process. » A spokeswoman with reference to the confidentiality of the agreement did not want to give any further details. According to « Standard », Lieferando offers all drivers from April 14 to May 20, a mutually agreed dissolution of the employment relationship.
Furthermore, the social plan has a volume of 1.7 million euros – this includes a hardship fund endowed with 400,000 euros. In order to benefit from it, those affected must agree to the « mutually acceptable resolution ». According to the newspaper, the management of the newspaper was originally intended for the hardship fund and less than 1 million for the overall plan.
According to the « Standard », 650 drivers could make use of it. Employees with fixed -term contracts that start after December 1st and administrative employees would look through their fingers.
Lieferando is looking for free employees
