The food deliverer Lieferando cancels around 850 employees – and is now switching new ads to social media that are supposed to attract free employees. Because Lieferando wants to switch to this business model. The reason is that the competition has never done. At Foodora or Wolt there were always only free workers. From April 16 and until June 30, Lieferando will now pay each new free employee 2 euros extra to find personnel.

« Earn additional money and adapt to your lifestyle, » says the advertisement. Or: « Choose your own schedule and enclose your availability every week. » How much you can earn does not arise from the circuits, which, as a freelance employee, naturally depends completely on how much you are struggling. Whether there is always a fixed sum is not evident from the advertisements, but it says: « Let yourself be paid out for your conditions! »

In any case, there is much less rights without employment, as the union is not tired of emphasizing. A social plan is currently being negotiated for the people registered for the dismissal at the AMS.

Own bike, your own smartphone, own data

Union criticizes « bogus self -employment »

In Austria there has been a collective agreement (KV) for bicycle deliverers since the beginning of 2020. Although it is not very lucrative, it ensures the employee rights mentioned. Since the beginning of 2023, the monthly collective agreement full-time gross income for bicycle messengers has been 1730 euros (net 1440 euros).
