Levski General Assembly: a project for a stadium without financing, paying debt and threat to murder

Levski’s new stadium is in the « Feature Study » phase. This was made clear after the extraordinary general meeting of Levski Professional Football Club AD, which was convened at the request of the Minority Shareholder « Levski of the Levski » and was held today.

In 2024, at the initiative of the football club, a procedure for changing the status of the stadium « Georgi Asparuhov » began, which from private state property was about to move to the party of the Sofia Municipality, becoming a municipal property, with the idea being to invest in the construction of an entirely new facility. The situation was described in detail by Dnevnik at the end of last year, and 3 months later there is no practical development.

« Three problems have been defined – one is between the regional administration and the Sofia Municipality, as the stadium is yet to be recorded as public municipal property, which impedes any of our investment intentions and the others are with the Sofia City Council, which must recognize us with the units of the nine property so far, which have been joined in the nine property so far They must be decided to continue the work on searching for investors.

The stadium as a public municipal property is actually a serious problem from the point of view of potential investors, which is not yet. According to Levski President Nasko Sirakov, the project for a new stadium ranks second among the club priorities after the ranking for European club tournaments this season. « There were serious discussions at all points. In my opinion, the meeting went well and the shareholders were familiar with the things that were interested in them, » Sirakov commented after the meeting. In connection with the insistence of « Levski Association of the Levskars » the club to present a 5-year investment plan, the majority owner was adamant: « It is not serious to ask for a 5-year plan, two years ago, these people have announced that we are in a vigilant coma that Levski has bankrupt, and now they want a plan. Since May, we are starting to pay the NRA, which is over 200,000 BGN a month. But he can’t make long -term plans yet. « 

Against the backdrop of the stagnation in the project for a new stadium and the announced repayment of the successive obligations, the General Assembly was also marked by a disclosure of a threat of murder. Former Trust Chairman Vasil Kolev, who announced to the media that he was harassed and homophobic on an internet site funded by Iliana Raeva, was made by Trust Blue Bulgaria. It was not clear who the threat was made, but the Ministry of Interior, the DGBOP, was operated, the prosecutor’s office was referred to. Kolev is a fierce critic of Nasko Sirakov and according to him, this is one of the reasons for the attacks against him.
